Statistical Process Control System

SPC

Automated Process data collection and application of SPC Rules

TYNE's Web-based SPC system receives information from multiple in-line processes, loading the data into the System database.  Then each data point (sample) is automatically compared versus the User defined Control Limits and applicable WECO rules.

Should an Out of Control (OOC) situation be determined, an Alarm condition will occur, the Event is logged into the database and the responsible process owner alerted via the existing IT infrastructure.

SPC

Alarms for timely containment of Abnormal process results

However the User need not wait for notification, the System also provides a very visual method to highlight which steps are running in Control.  The User can 'drill-down' on the operations with current OOC conditions.

Once the Alarm condition has been raised or noted, it is then the responsible Engineers’ role to review the OOC event, disposition it accordingly and release the process back to ‘Production’.   Several options are provided for the engineers to analyse the events and disposition them, adding comments as necessary.  All events and dispositing is recorded in a historical database for review or later analysis.

Offline analysis for Long term Continuous Improvement

After several days of production it is possible to start to perform offline analysis.  Options include simulating different SPC rules (limits & WECO rules) on the data for fine tuning the setup.  Alternatively the User can understand the event breakdown for the different OOC conditions.  For example, a pareto to highlight the areas needing the most attention first, Cpk reports and OOC History reports.

Several options exist for manipulating the SPC data including some simple EDA functions, reports and data export tools.
